Yesterday, in the Creative writing class we touched upon Figures of speech – Simile.
We were understanding the meaning of :
1. Slept like a log.
2. Slept like a baby.
And, there were deeper insights how parents had worked extra hours and slept late with one child quipping, ” Dad worked till morning and this is what exactly happened in my house as he was sleeping like a log.” Another child said, ” Mom worked till midnight and she was sleeping like a baby.”
The point of Simile and its workability was driven well and I drove home with the points that children watch, they notice, they are impressionable and they understand how hard parents work.
